Mexico reveals bidders list for upcoming shallow water round

Mexico’s National Hydrocarbons Commission has revealed a list of the approved bidders for the next week’s oil and gas acreage bidding round.

The bidding round to be held on Tuesday, March 27, will see the tender of 35 contractual areas in shallow waters as shared-production contracts. The contractual areas are divided into three sectors: Burgos, Tampico-Misantla-Veracruz and Southeast Basin.

The final list includes 14 bidders approved to participate as individual companies, and 22 as bidders in consortium. In total, 36 companies from 14 countries will participate.

The 14 individual bidders are: BP, Capricorn Energy, Chevron, Deutsche Erdoel, ECP Hidrocarburos, Eni, ONGC Videsh, Pan Amercian Energy, Petronas, Pemex, Premier Oil, Repsol, Shell, Total.

Other companies, that will be taking part as bidding consortia with other oil firms include the likes of Lukoil, Inpex, Pemex, Sapura Energy,Cepsa, and Citla Energy.
