MMT to Survey Danish 800MW OWF Project Area

Swedish marine survey specialist MMT has been assigned by the Danish transmission system operator Energinet to carry out seabed surveys for a new 800MW offshore wind farm project.

MMT will execute a geophysical survey in the Danish North Sea covering approximately 440 square kilometer area west of central Jutland.

The survey will be performed in 2019 with full coverage of the area of investigation. The survey will map the bathymetry, the static and dynamic elements of the seabed surface and the sub-surface geological soil layers to at least 60 meters below seabed.

According to tender documents, there is also an option for a repeated hydrographical survey to be performed in Q3 2020 to investigate dynamic seabed conditions.

The water depth in the project area is expected to range between 15 meters and 45 meters.

Furthermore, MMT will carry out a cable route surveys for the two proposed 65-kilometer export cable routes.

Export cable surveys, ranging between 0 meters – 45 meters water depth, are scheduled for Q3 2019. The deal also includes an option for a repeated hydrographical survey in Q3 2020.
