MMT Upgrades Franklin’s Survey Spread

Equipment

Swedish marine survey services provider, MMT, has upgraded its Franklin vessel with the new survey spread.

The new equipment includes EM2040D multibeam echo sounder for shallow waters.

The vessel has also been upgraded with Kongsberg Topas PS40, a hull mounted parametric sub-bottom profiler with ultra-high resolution in water depths down to 2000 meters.

This will add to the vessel’s existing 2000m capacity with the already fitted EM710 MBES, the company said.

MMT’s COO, Nils Ingvarson, said: “The upgrade of Franklin is a natural step for MMT to make sure that all vessels in the fleet is up to date with the latest survey equipment on the market.”

The acceptance tests of the new systems were performed in February, near Lysekil on the Swedish west coast.
