Motive Offshore Opens Intake for Trainees

Motive Offshore Group, headquartered in Boyndie, near Banff, in Aberdeenshire, has opened up its intake for trainees in 2015 with availability for six craft apprenticeships, as part of a four-year programme combining practical paid work and college training.

Successful candidates will start in July 2015, working Monday to Friday with the opportunity to rotate within all engineering departments including the machine shop, hydraulics, fitting, fabrication/welding and the firm’s rental fleet, the company informed.

Chief Operating Officer of Motive Offshore Group, Dave Acton, said: “As a company, we have a strong commitment to providing apprenticeships, as myself and chief executive officer, James Gregg, both started our careers as apprentices and know first hand the benefits these programmes can bring.

“We are also proud to be able to give something back to the local community and have formed strong links with the local schools and colleges and regularly attend the local career fairs so we can speak to the pupils and explore where their talents lie. It is also great to be able to share our key industry skills to combat the well-documented skills shortage in the industry and help to develop the best young people from the local area.”
