Mubadala Starts Gas Production from Ruby Field (Indonesia)

INPEX has announced that production of natural gas  from the Ruby gas field (the Field) in the Sebuku PSC in Indonesia, kicked off on 27 October 2013.

The Field, operated by Mubadala Petroleum, is located 300km south of Balikpapan City in Indonesia with a water depth of approximately 60m. The development plan of the Field was approved by the Government of Indonesia in July 2008 and the field development by INPEX with partners Mubadala Petroleum, the operator, and Total started soon after.

The natural gas produced from the Field is delivered to the existing onshore processing facility of the Offshore Mahakam Block through a subsea pipeline. Then the gas is processed and supplied to a fertilizer plant located in East Kalimantan, Indonesia via an onshore pipeline. The Field is expected to produce natural gas at the rate of 100 million scfd (approximately 17,000boed).
