M/V OSCAR B Ready for Construction

Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) has designed a steel hull, aluminum superstructure vessel which will be built by Nichols Bros Boat Builders (NBBB) for Wahkiakum County.

M/V OSCAR B Ready for Construction

The 115ft. x 47 ft. 6 in 23‐Car, 100 passenger ferry, named the M/V OSCAR B after former skipper and owner Oscar Bergseng, will run between ferry terminals in Cathlamet, Wash. and Westport, Ore.

M/V OSCAR B is designed to operate at 8 knots and will be powered by two Cummins QLS diesels delivering 9,285 HP @ 1,800 RPM and coupled to ZF Marine reversing reduction gears with two fixed‐pitched propellers.

The vessel is slated to go into service in February of 2015.
