NDM acquires Shalk Engineering

Norwegian Deck Machinery AS (NDM) have entered into an agreement with the majority shareholders in Shalk Engineering to transfer their shares and to integrate their products into the NDM’s portfolio. Shalk Engineering will be re-named to Norwegian Deck Machinery Ulsteinvik AS (NDM Ulsteinvik).

NDM acquires Shalk Engineering

Shalk Engineering is located in Ulsteinvik, Norway, and has in position several patents and products which NDM has seen as valuable to increase their existing portfolio.

NDM and Shalk Engineering have worked closely together for a long time and the acquisition has been done after a common wish to both increase the co-operation with the two organisations and to promote and sell Shalk Engineering’s products through NDM’s world-wide network, NDM says in a statement.

With the acquisition of Shalk Engineering, NDM will gather patented products and solutions like stern rollers, dry bulk systems, dry bulk boosters, dust cleaning plants and other products towards both offshore vessels, drilling rigs and supply bases.

“For a long time we have been working closely with the staff at Shalk Engineering and we look forward to get both their engineering expertise and products into our portfolio. With our world-wide network and large custom base we are sure that will be able to both develop the company and their product effective. The products in Shalk Engineering complements our portfolio to both offshore vessels and drilling rigs and by integrating our resources we will be able to offer our customers larger equipment packages and to become a more turnkey equipment supplier,” says Jarle Sørstrønen, CEO and President in NDM.
