Neptune Energy announces new Algeria MD
Oil and gas exploration firm Neptune Energy has appointed Mehdi Bouguetaia to take on the role of Algeria managing director.
Bouguetaia joins Neptune from Shell where he was technical support and subsea operations general manager with Rashpetco JV in Egypt.
An Algerian national, he started his career with Shell in Aberdeen, UK, as a process and development engineer.
Bouguetaia has held a number of senior leadership roles in the Netherlands, Gabon and Egypt.
Jerome Jacquemont will continue as MD in Algeria until the end of the year, when Mehdi will transition into the role.
Neptune said it will give a further announcement on Jacquemont ’s future role in due course.
Jim House, CEO of Neptune, believes Bouguetaia brings a great deal of experience through strong personal and professional links with Algeria.
He also thanked Jacquemont on his leadership and for overseeing the start-up of the Touat gas development in North Africa.
