The Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) said on Monday that it has given Neptune Energy consent for exploration drilling of well 33/6-6 S and 33/6-6 A at the Shamu prospect.

The exploration well is located in block 33/6 in production licence 882. The licence is operated by Neptune with Concedo, Idemitsu Petroleum, and Petrolia NOCO as partners.

The well will be drilled using the Deepsea Yantai semi-submersible drilling rig. The water depth at the site is 311 meters and drilling operations are estimated to last for a minimum of 32 days.
