NGSA urges support of Barrasso’s LNG export ammendment

The Natural Gas Supply Association voiced its support of Senator John Barrasso’s efforts to streamline the liquefied natural gas export application review process.

NGSA said in a statement that it will seek further opportunities to speed up the process enabling the export of LNG.

The amendment to the National Defense Appropriations Act, put forward by Barrasso, which would have streamlined the LNG export application review process, was not considered by the Senate, due to procedural issues.

NGSA’s president and CEO Dena E. Wiggins said the United States must have  greater regulatory certainty for LNG export applications, which will in turn enable America to compete on a global level and will encourage local investment.

She urged the Senate to follow the House that already voted in favor of streamlining the LNG export application process.
