NIGC to fire up seven gas pressure boosters by March 2016

The National Iranian Gas Company said it plans to launch seven gas pressure booster stations by the end of next Iranian calendar year (March 2016).

Managing director of the NIGC, Hamidreza Araqi added that since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year four gas pressure stations had become operational and two other stations would come online before year-end on March 20, 2015.

He stated that each 25-megawatt turbine of the station has a capacity to transfer more than 30 million cubic meters of gas per day.

Araqi told that implementation of Iran Gas Trunkline-6 and launching the five gas pressure stations along IGAT-8 are the top priorities of NIGC in next year.

“Currently, 80 percent of the equipment for constructing gas pressure booster stations is produced domestically,” he added.
