Fulkrum steps up Norwegian offshore oil & gas presence with Vår Energi deal

Fulkrum, a London-headquartered technical services company providing inspection, expediting, auditing and technical staffing solutions to energy and industrial projects, has landed an inspection services contract with Vår Energi, an independent oil and gas operator on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). This deal expands the UK firm’s offshore footprint in Norway and enables it to provide inspection and testing support across three subsea developments in the Gjøa area.

Fulkrum has secured what it describes as a major inspection services contract across Vår Energi’s project portfolio, supporting quality assurance, operational integrity, and efficient project execution.

As part of this framework agreement, the London-based company is currently supporting three subsea developments within the Gjøa area: Ophelia, Gjøa Nord, and Cerisa, providing inspection and testing of equipment and systems both offshore and on-site at the testing facilities.

Fulkrum’s technical expertise will support the Norwegian operator’s commitment to safety through its ongoing investment and initiatives, including hazard identification and risk assessment, legal and regulatory compliance, and continual improvement. The company emphasizes that Vår Energi is one of the largest exporters of gas to Europe from Norway, with equity stakes in half of the producing assets on the NCS and around 1,450 employees.

According to the firm, this contract award, which further strengthens its growing presence in the Norwegian energy market, reinforces its reputation for delivering high-quality inspection services during the procurement and operations of complex offshore and subsea developments worldwide.

Vår Energi is actively working on multiple projects to increase its oil and gas arsenal, as illustrated by its recent partnership with Equinor and Aker BP to find new major hydrocarbon discoveries in Norwegian waters, targeting up to 25 high-impact exploration prospects over the next few years.
