Noble restarts Humpback well drilling

Noble Energy has restarted drilling of the Humpback exploration well in the South Falklands Basin, offshore the Falkland Islands.

The well was spudded on June 13, 2015. The completion of the well was delayed in August due to a series of unforeseen equipment and operational issues. This delay extended the duration of the well. At the time, it was predicted that the results of the well would be available in September 2015.

However, according to Falkland Oil and Gas Limited (FOGL), a partner in the licence, the resolution of the equipment issues took longer than expected.

FOGL on Friday said that drilling has restarted and the company now anticipates that the results of the well will be available in early October 2015.

The well is located in licence PL012 in which FOGL has a 52.5% working interest. Noble Energy is the operator of the licence.
