Noble Tommy Craighead Hired for Benin Drilling

Noble Corporation, a U.S.-based drilling contractor, has announced that it has secured a contract for its Noble Tommy Craighead rig.

In its fleet status report, the drilling contractor said that the contract is expected to start in early September this year and will last until March 2014.

The jack-up rig of F&G L-780 MOD II design has been hired by South Atlantic Petroleum at a dayrate of $145.000. Currently under a contract with Eni in Congo until July 2013, the rig will, once that contract is complete, undergo repair and maintenance works at a shipyard in Cameroon. The works and mobilization are expected to take approximately 70 days.

According to the fleet status report, Noble Tommy Craighead is then expected to be deployed in the Republic of Benin at SAPETRO’s offshore Block 1.
