NOF Energy Helping Shetland Supply Chain Companies Diversify

NOF Energy is supporting a cluster of Shetland-based energy sector supply chain businesses access new markets and sectors.

The seven companies, which are the first from the Highlands and Islands region of Scotland to join NOF Energy, are all active in the North Sea oil & gas industry and are engaging with the organisation to support diversification and further internationalisation of their operations.

NOF Energy said it is placing a particular focus on the Northern part of the country and has engaged with Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the Scottish Energy Minister to build greater relationships in the region to support the ambitions of local companies.

Among its first activities in the Highlands and Islands region, NOF Energy is hosting a supply chain event in Inverness on 11 February to inform local supply businesses of the opportunities that exist across the range of energy sectors. One of the speakers at the event will be BVG, which will discuss offshore wind.

George Rafferty, Chief Executive of NOF Energy, said: “Highlands and Islands companies have been at the core of the North Sea supply chain for decades; however, the changing economic environment means they need to look at broader and diverse targets for their established and innovative services and solutions.

“As part of NOF Energy these companies will not only be able to increase their presence in the evolving UK oil & gas market, but have the support available to enter new geographic markets and energy sectors.”
