Nor Lines’ LNG-powered newbuild to enter operation

The Norwegian shipping company Nor Lines said its LNG-powered ship, MV Kvitbjørn, that will run between Cuxhaven and Norway will enter operation following the naming ceremony to be held on April 16.

The naming ceremony will be held at Skangenkaien in Stavanger, Norway, the company informed in a statement.

Together with its sister ship MV Kvitnos that is scheduled for delivery in July, MV Kvitbjørn will operate between Cuxhaven and a variety of Norwegian ports, from Oslo Fjord to the west coast and as far as Hammerfest in Northern Norway.

The ships, which are about 120 metres long and 21 metres wide, have a cargo capacity of 122 TEUs, about 1,000 lane metres and they have an onboard crane able to lift 80 tonnes. They are also equipped with side doors for break bulk cargo and can accommodate refrigerated goods.
