Nord Stream Schedules Annual Pipeline Maintenance

Nord Stream said it will temporarily shut down both lines of its gas pipeline system for routine maintenance works.

The maintenance shutdown, scheduled from 16 July to 30 July 2019, is part of the pipeline’s annual inspection cycle and will take place for the seventh time.

The annual maintenance works are a key element of Nord Stream’s long-term Pipeline Integrity Management Strategy. Mechanical components and automation systems are tested to ensure reliable, safe and efficient functioning of the twin pipeline for the designed life span of at least 50 years.

Throughout operations of the Nord Stream Pipeline, annual maintenance works ensure the safety, efficiency and reliability of the system. Since commissioning of both lines in 2012, Nord Stream has fulfilled all nominations and capacities, while operating in an environmentally sound way,” Nord Stream AG’s managing director Alexey Zaytsev says and adds: “These are the highest standards we aim to maintain throughout the whole operational phase of the pipeline system.”
