Norway: Hammerfest LNG Terminal Still Shut

Hammerfest LNG Terminal Still Shut

Statoil of Norway today said that the  Hammerfest LNG plant is still shut and there was no sign of output resuming for the moment, according to Platts.

The company’s  Spokesman Ola Anders Skauby, said: “It is still down and we do not have any estimates on when it will be coming back up again.”

The plant was closed on July 10 because of a water leak in natural gas dryers. Statoil assumes that closer inspection could reveal the details on how long the stoppage will last.

The Statoil-operated Hammerfest terminal has a capacity to produce 4.3 million mt/year of LNG.
