Norway: Marathon Petroleum Given Consent for Use of Songa Dee on Alvheim

Marathon Petroleum Company (Norway) (MPCN) has received consent to use the mobile drilling facility Songa Dee for production drilling on the Alvheim field.

On 26 March 2010, MPCN received consent to use Songa Dee for drilling and completion of three oil producing wells on Alvheim: 24/6-B-4 (Kameleon), 25/4-L-1 and 25/4-L-2 (both East Kameleon).

The new consent is an expansion and applies to well 25/4-L-3 (East Kameleon), which has the following geographical coordinates:

N 59° 35’ 8.848”, E 02° 5’ 12.453”. The water depth at the site is 123 metres.
