Norway Oil & Gas sector had highest wages in 2014

Oil & Gas sector had the highest annual wages in 2014 in Norway, a report has revealed.

According to Statistics Norway, employees in oil and gas extraction business had the highest annual wages in 2014 with 785,600 kroner.

This corresponds to an increase of 21 200 kroner or 2.8 per cent from 2013.

The financial sector also had high annual wages with 715 800 kroner, an increase of 34 100, or 5 percent from 2013.

Employees in hotels and restaurants saw the lowest average annual salary with 347,300 kroner. However, this was still an increase of 7600 thousand, or 2.2 percent
