Norway: Vard Langsten Delivers AHTS Vessel Far Senator

AHTS vessel Far Senator of UT 731 CD design was delivered yesterday, Thursday 21 March, from Vard Langsten to Farstad Supply AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Farstad Shipping ASA.

The vessel is designed by Rolls Royce Marine with a total length of 87.4m and breadth of 21.0m. Bollard pull will be approx. 260 tons and installed power is approx. 24 000 BHP. The vessel was built according to DNV’s strictest environmental class – “Clean Design” – and will be arranged for safe and efficient deepwater operations.

Far Senator is designed to work in extreme environmental conditions and carry out operations in water as deep as 3,000 metres.

With reference to the press release 7 March 2013, Farstad Supply AS has sold the vessel to Ocean Yield AS and leased it back on a 12 year bareboat charter. The agreement includes options for Farstad Supply AS to buy back the vessel. The vessel will operate in the North Sea spot market.
