NPD: June Production Down 11 Pct (Norway)

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has announced that preliminary production figures for June 2013 indicate an average daily production of about 1 111 684 000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate.

This is 215 000 barrels per day (about 11 percent) less than in May 2013. Total gas sales were about 8.4 billion Sm3, which is 0,5 GSm3 less than the previous month.

The average daily liquid production in June was: 1 317 000 barrels of oil, 297 000 barrels of NGL and 69 000 barrels of condensate.

Fields in the Ekofisk area were closed in about 3 weeks in June due to planned maintenance work. The following fields had reduced production in June due to various technical problems: Skarv, Skuld, Trym, Oseberg , Oseberg Sør and Vigdis.

The oil production so far this year is about 2 percent below the NPD’s prognosis.

The total petroleum production for the first six months in 2013 is about 107.7 million standard cubic meters oil equivalents. (MSm3 o.e.), broken down as follows: about 41.8 MSm3 o.e. of oil, about 10.8 MSm3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and about 55.1 MSm3 o.e. of gas for sale. The total oil volume is 5.2 MSm3 o.e. (about 11 percent) less than for the same period in 2012.

Final production figures from May 2013 show an average daily production of about 1.511 million barrels of oil, 0.388 million barrels of NGL and condensate and a total of 8.9 billion Sm3 saleable gas production.
