NSSLGlobal VSAT system selected for MOL’s LNG fleet

NSSLGlobal has said it has won a deal with MOL LNG Transport (Europe), a Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) unit, to replace the legacy VSAT system on board MOL LNG’s fleet of 15 liquefied natural gas carriers.

The new system meets MOL LNG’s performance and support requirements and delivers faster, more robust operational connectivity and ship-to-shore remote access, the UK-based service provider of satellite communications and IT support said in its statement.

Eleven ships have been completed and a further three are being worked on.

Many installations have been conducted while the ships were in active service, NSSLGlobal said.

The install involved ripping out the old equipment, replacing with new racks and completing the task of configuring the antennas when the ships were moving.
