Allard van Hoeken is founder and CEO of Oceans of Energy and passionate ocean sailor. He invented the first high-wave offshore solar system in the world, the Oceans of Energy Offshore Solar Farm System, an innovative lightweight multibody structure that floats like a water lily and follows the waves. In 2015 Allard was elected Engineer of the Year and he received the first Prins Friso Engineers Award. Allard has a MSC Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, an MBA from INSEAD and has more than 25 years experience with permanently moored offshore systems and offshore renewable energy technologies.
