Chief Technology Officer

Sander Roosjen is a professional engineer and currently active as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Nederlandse Innovatie Maatschappij (NIM). With a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Twente, Roosjen started his career initially focused on luxury yachting, ultimately transitioning to pioneering advancements in the maritime industry. Notably, he spearheaded the introduction of the first StageV certified engine and was a leader in equipping the first inland marine vessel with hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Roosjen’s expertise extends to physics, with a specialization in thermodynamics. Beyond academics, he likes to fly airplanes, and can be found exploring the skies from small Dutch airfields during his off-hours. As a researcher, Roosjen has contributed to the fields of reactor technology and waste heat recovery systems.

He holds ownership in various companies actively contributing to innovation and sustainability efforts. Currently, Roosjen is furthering his academic journey by pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Twente, focusing on sustainable process technology. Besides his professional pursuits, Roosjen is married and a proud father of two.
