Hagana 1 Well in Process of Being Plugged and Abandoned

Oil Search reported that on 25 July, the Hagana 1 well was at a depth of 3,238 metres and in the process of being plugged and abandoned.

During the week, logging confirmed the presence of a 9 metre gas column within a 13 metre sand in the deeper secondary Pliocene objective. The results confirm the presence of the turbidite sand play and gas charge and retention at this stratigraphic level in the Gulf of Papua.

The Stena Clyde rig will now be moved to the Kidukidu prospect in PPL 385, located 40 kilometres west-southwest of Hagana.

The Hagana prospect lies approximately 225 kilometres west-northwest of Port Moresby and 10 kilometres northeast from the Flinders 1 gas discovery, in a water depth of approximately 105 metres.
