Osiris Secures Long-Term Charter of MV Neptune

Specialist seabed mapping company Osiris Projects has secured last week the long term charter of MV ‘Neptune’ from Neptune EHF. The vessel is a permanently mobilised, 50m, DP1 multi-purpose survey vessel accommodating up to 35 people for a duration of 40 days.

The vessel has undergone extensive re-fits in 2008 & 2013 to provide a comfortable and well-considered offshore platform capable of shallow or deep water survey operations. Standard survey mobilisation includes 2dHR seismic array, two hull mounted MBES systems, high resolution side scan sonar, magnetometer, USBL, single channel as well as both a Vibrocore and CPT system.

The vessel can be readily reconfigured to accommodate a small WROV. A fully enclosed survey workshop/garage opens directly onto the large main deck and 10T A-frame. Winch and container storage platforms above the main deck level allow a clear working space to be maintained during multi-discipline survey operations. From April the vessel will be conducting survey operations in the UK and will then be operational throughout Europe.

The charter of MV Neptune adds to Osiris Projects’ own 5 vessels to compliment the continuously developing capabilities of the business.

Osiris Projects has also commissioned a new vessel, a sister ship to MV Bibby Tethra. The new vessel MV Bibby Athena, has the same fundamental design with a number of minor alterations and is scheduled for launch in January 2015.
