Pavilion, Chubu joint LNG procurement deal in the pipeline

Pavilion Energy’s CEO, Seah Moon Ming spoke at the Gas Asia Summit predicting a promising LNG future for Asia.

One step in securing Asia’s energy security could be Pavilion Energy’s possible collaboration on joint procurement of LNG supply and shipping optimisation capacities with Chubu Electric Power, Seah Moon Ming mentioned in his speech.

Pavilion eyes boosting its purchasing power through tie-up with Chubu, the similar way Chubu Electric did with Tepco.

Asian LNG importers are looking to find ways to reduce LNG procurement costs and such collaborations are a step in the right direction.

Pavilion’s CEO said the company has received several supply request from countries in the region and he is positive about the long-term prospects for LNG in Asia. He also urged for broader regional co-operation framework or joint LNG procurement, joint investment in receiving terminal and storage infrastructure.
