PEMEX Awards Two Floatels to Navantia and Barreras

PEMEX Exploración y Producción (PEP) has chosen PMI Group for the construction of two floating hotels. PMI proposal is based on the offer of Navantia and Barreras shipyard.

The floatels, that will be built in Ferrol Estuary facilities, are ships for the accommodation of personnel working on the oil platforms. Each vessel is designed to accommodate 700 people and has a dynamic positioning capability.

The construction of two ships will cost around $380 million with delivery set for 2017.
