Pertamina targeting Abadi FLNG stake

Pertamina of Indonesia is reportedly eyeing a stake in the Abadi FLNG project in the Masela block.

Djoko Siswanto, Oil and Gas Director general at Indonesia’s energy ministry told Reuters that Pertamina is looking to buy a stake in the project being developed by Inpex and Shell.

He said Pertamina is interested in owning a stake in the Masela block due to the potential it holds.

Inpex is looking to extend its position as the operator of the block by seeking to add another 20-year term to the current permit that expires in 2028.

Production at the Abadi FLNG project is running behind initial plans and is expected to start in 2022.
