Petrobras February oil production in Brazil slightly down

Bratzil’s national oil company Petrobras saw its oil production in Brazil slightly drop due to operational issues with three production units.

The average oil production in the country was 2.08 million barrels per day (bpd), 1% lower than the volume produced in January.

This result was mainly due to the operational occurrences in the platforms P-18 and P20, which operate in the Marlim field, in the Campos Basin, and the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis, located in the Lula field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt, Petrobras said.

The production of natural gas, excluding the liquefied volume, was 80.5 million m³/d, 2.3% above the previous month, due to the increase of the production in Amazon fields due to the end of the maintenance in the compression system.

Oil production in the fields abroad was 61 thousand bpd, in line with the previous month, while the natural gas production was 6.4 million m³/d.

Petrobras’ total oil and natural gas production in February was 2.69 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), with 2.59 million boed produced in Brazil and 99 thousand boed produced abroad. Total production operated by the company (portions of Petrobras and partners) was 3.32 million boed, with 3.19 million boed in Brazil.
