Petrobras’ oil and gas production edges down in July

Brazil’s Petrobras said its oil and natural gas production reached 2.74 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), dropping from 2.8 million boed in July.

The state-owned energy giant said in that 2.63 million boed were produced in Brazil and 114,000 boed were produced abroad.

Natural gas production in Brazil, excluding the liquefied volume, during July was 80 million cubic meters per day, 0.4 percent below the previous month.

The oil and natural gas production operated by Petrobras in the pre-salt layer was 1.61 million boed, a volume 4.3 percent lower than the previous month.

Natural gas production was 8.4 million cubic meters per day, 2.9 percent above the volume produced in June. This increase resulted mainly from higher demand for Bolivian gas.

Petrobras said in its latest monthly report that this increase resulted mainly from higher demand for Bolivian gas.
