Petrobras’ oil and gas production flat in June

Brazil’s state-owned energy giant Petrobras said its oil and natural gas remained flat, reporting 2.81 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), compared to 2.8 million boed in May.

According to Petrobras’ latest monthly report, 2.70 million boed were produced in Brazil with 113,000 boed produced abroad.

In June, natural gas production in Brazil, excluding the liquefied volume, was 80.3 million cubic meters per day, 1.8 percent above the previous month. This increase is due mainly to the return to production of FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba.

In addition, Petrobras-operated oil and natural gas production in the pre-salt layer reached the new record of 1.69 million boed.

Natural gas production abroad was 8.1 million cubic meters, 13 percent below the volume produced in May 2017.

This reduction was mainly the result of lower demand for gas production in Bolivia and production drop in the Hadrian South field, in the USA, Petrobras said.
