Petrobras oil and gas production hits records in August

Petrobras of Brazil revealed its August oil and gas production climbed to a record high 2.88 million barrels of oil equivalent, 0.8% above previous record and 4.5% higher than the same month last year. 

Compared to July, when 2.80 million were produced, oil and natural gas output was up 3.1 percent, Petrobras said in a statement.

Total oil and natural gas output in Brazil was 2.69 million boed, 3.1% higher than the previous month and 0.6% above the previous domestic record of 2.67 million boed set in December 2014.

Natural gas output in Brazil, excluding the liquefied volume, also set a new record of 77.2 million cubic meters/day, up 3.6% over the previous month.

The average natural gas production abroad was 15.4 million cubic meters per day, 1.9% above the July output, which was 15.1 million cubic meters per day.
