Petrobras post record gas production in January

Petrobras of Brazil said that its domestic natural gas production in January, excluding the liquefied volume, rose by 1.4% from December’s production to 75.559 million m3 /day, setting a new record.

Non-liquefied natural gas production operated by Petrobras, including the share of its partner companies, rose by 1.7% in January from the production in the previous month, also setting a new historic record of 85.999 million m3 /day, the company said in a statement.

The company’s natural gas production abroad averaged 14.646 million m³/d, down 2.5% from the volume of 15.022 million m³/d produced in December.

This drop was led by a lower output at the Sábalo field, in the San Antonio block, Bolivia, due to already completed maintenance interventions on well SBL-X1, Petrobras added.
