Petrobras Restarting Production from PPM-1 Platform Following Oil Leak

Brazil’s state-controlled oil company Petrobras yesterday began resuming production from an offshore platform after a small oil leak was discovered during the weekend.

The 30-liter leak was found on Saturday at the Petrobras-operated PPM-1 platform in the Campos Basin, off Brazil, which forced the company to temporarily shut the production down.

Additional 10 liters, from the unit located at the Pampo offshore field, spilled in the ocean, Reuters has reported. The slick caused by the oil spill was then dispersed by specialised vessels, the news agency quoted Petrobras as saying.
