The sail away ceremony for the Floating Production Storage Offloading Unit was held in July at the Samsung Heavy Industry’s shipyard in South Korea.

The FPSO, owned by Teekay, is currently in transit to the North Sea where it will be moored under a charter with the UK-based oil and gas company BG Group.

With a production capacity of 63,000 barrels of oil per day, FPSO Petrojarl Knarr is one of Teekay’s largest FPSO projects to date.

Following installation and offshore testing on the Knarr field,  located in the northern part of the North Sea, about 120 kilometres west of Florø, Norway, the FPSO is expected to start its ten-year charter contract with BG late in the fourth quarter of 2014.
