Petronas Hires Aban Offshore’s Jack-up Rig (Malaysia)

India’s largest private drilling contractor, Aban Offshore, has received a letter of award from Malaysia’s Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd for the Deep Driller 3 Jack-up rig.

The oil company will charter the rig on a firm period of three years and will deploy it offshore Malaysia. The estimated value of the contract is USD 152.75 million.

Deep Driller 3 is a KFELS Super B Class Independent leg, Cantilevered Jack-Up Drilling Unit built in Singapore in 2006. The rig is designed to operate at water depths up to 350 ft (106.68 meters) with maximum drilling depth of 35.000 ft (10 668 meters).
