After setting up the Kochi LNG terminal at Puthuvype, Petronet LNG continues with plants to lease its storage facilities.

According to a company official, the process for the leasing of the part of 5 mmtpa terminal is in progress, reports the Hindu.

Deal is likely to be struck within two months, since a lot of interest has been shown by various companies following the company’s invitation for proposals from LNG suppliers. Many foreign companies are interested since it gives them an option to store LNG at a strategic location for Asian and South Asian market.

The Kochi terminal has two storage tanks of nearly 182,000 cubic meters capacity each.
