The Ocean Quest semi-submersible drilling rig will begin its contract with Vietnamese oil and gas company PetroVietnam (PVEP) at the end of April.

The contract is for ten wells at a $198.900 day rate. PetroVietnam will have an option to extend the agreement for another three wells. The Ocean Quest semi-submersible drilling rig was built in 1973.

It is 336 feet long, 313 feet wide and 128 feet high, capable of operating in water depth of up to 3.500 feet. The rig’s maximum drilling depth is 25.000 feet.

The rig was out of contract since November 2013, following termination of the contract with the Brazilian oil company OGX.
