French oil major, Total, has awarded Japan Drilling Company’s (JDC) jack-up rig Hakuryu-10 with the 2015 Best Rig Performance Award during an award ceremony recently held aboard the rig, offshore Balikpapan, Indonesia.

JDC said on Monday that the jack-up rig outperformed 45 other rigs in Total’s worldwide operations.

Hakuryu-10 is a 375 ft operating water depth self-elevating cantilever jack-up drilling rig, built by PPL Shipyard using a Baker Marine Design. The rig was delivered in June 2008 at P.P.L. shipyard.

JDC President, Yuichiro Ichikawa, told Total representatives that he was proud of the Hakuryu-10 achievement. He added that he intends to implement specific efficiency practices of the Hakuryu-10 to further improve the operational performance of JDC Group rigs. He ended his address by saying that he was looking forward to working together with Total at the nearest opportunity.
