Picture of the day: Nakilat’s LNG fleet at Ras Laffan

Qatar’s Ras Laffan is home to the biggest liquefied natural gas complex in the world.

Around 77 million tonnes of LNG is being exported from Ras Laffan on a yearly basis, making Qatar the world’s largest exporter of the chilled gas.

A big part of this LNG is being transported onboard vessels owned by Qatar’s Nakilat.

Nakilat’s 54 wholly and jointly owned LNG vessels represent a total investment of approximately US $11 billion and have a combined carrying capacity of over 8.5 million cubic meters or 15% of the world capacity.

The picture above shows a part of Nakilat’s fleet moored at the jetty’s of the Ras Laffan complex.
