Pieridae reaches labor agreements for Goldboro LNG

Pieridae Energy, the developer of the Goldboro LNG project, reached tentative project labor agreements with Nova Scotia trades and construction union for the proposed project. 

The tentative agreement was signed by the Nova Scotia Construction Labour Relations Association, as the bargaining agent of Pieridae, and by each of the unions that will be providing the workforce to the Goldboro LNG project during its construction, Pieridae said in a statement on Friday.

The project labor agreement, together with the various existing collective agreements, outline the terms of employment of tradespersons who will be engaged in the construction of the Goldboro LNG project and include training and employment opportunities for qualified First Nations members, women and local residents.

The 10 mtpa Goldboro LNG project, being developed by Pieridae Energy, will be located at the Goldboro industrial park in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia, Canada. It will consist of an LNG processing facility supplied with gas via the existing Maritimes & Northeast pipeline.

It will consist of an LNG processing facility supplied with gas via the existing Maritimes & Northeast pipeline, three storage tanks with 230,000-cbm capacity, and a marine jetty capable of receiving carriers with the capacity of 145,000-cbm to 263,000-cbm.

According to the Pieridae Energy’s website, the expected start of commercial operation at the facility is set for early 2019.
