PNG: Hagana 1 Well Reaches Total Depth

Oil Search reported that as at 08:00 hours PNG time on 18 July, the Hagana 1 well had reached a total depth of 3,238 metres. Drilling progress for the week was 499 metres in an 8-½” hole.

During the week, two sand packages with good indications of hydrocarbons were penetrated. The forward plan is to acquire wireline logs over these sections.

The Hagana prospect lies approximately 225 kilometres west-northwest of Port Moresby and 10 kilometres northeast from the Flinders 1 gas discovery, in a water depth of approximately 105 metres.

The participants in Hagana 1 are: Oil Search (40%) ,Total E&P PNG 4 B.V. (40%), and  Nippon Oil Exploration (Niugini) Pty Limited (20%).
