PNG LNG Starts Operations at Komo Airfield

Oil Search announced that operations at the Komo Airfield have commenced.

Oil Search Managing Director, Peter Botten, said: “This is a major milestone for the PNG LNG Project. The 3.2 kilometre Komo Airfield provides a gateway for large equipment to be transported to the Project’s Hides Gas Conditioning Plant, which will treat natural gas and condensate from the Hides and Angore fields, using Antonov-124 cargo aircraft.

“Esso Highlands Limited, the PNG LNG Project operator has confirmed that the PNG LNG Project, which is more than 80% complete, remains on track for first LNG sales in 2014.”
