PSA Inspects Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup Export Pipeline

Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has carried out an audit of Statoil’s work on qualifying pipeline field joint coatings for the Johan Sverdrup export pipeline.

PSA carried out the audit to verify that the follow-up and qualification of field joints for the export pipeline for Johan Sverdrup were being conducted in compliance with the company’s own requirements and statutory regulations.

The audit identified no regulatory non-conformities.

PSA observed three areas with potential for improvement. These are document handling, fabrication and technical issues relating to the delivery and long-term testing of polymers.

PSA has given a deadline to Statoil until December 08, 2017, for an assessment of the improvement points.
