Q-Flex duo heading for UK

The South Hook and Dragon LNG terminals in the United Kingdom are scheduled to receive one cargo of liquefied natural gas each, at the beginning of next month.

October deliveries from Qatar’s Ras Laffan will be opened by two Q-Flex vessels set to arrive in the Milford Haven waterway on October 1, shipping data reveals.

One cargo onboard the 210,000 cbm Al Karaana will be delivered to the South Hook terminal while Al Shehaniya LNG carrier, also with the capacity of 210,000 cbm, will deliver its load to the Dragon LNG terminal on the same day.

Both vessels were built by the South Korean major, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and delivered in 2009.

The South Hook terminal can process 15.6 million tonnes of LNG a year and is capable of delivering 21 billion cubic metres of gas a year into the UK’s national transmission system.

Dragon LNG terminal has a maximum gas send out rate to the NTS of 7.6 billion cubic meters of gas per annum.
