Qatar, Jordan in LNG Talks

Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Qutaiba Abu Qura is in Doha visiting with his Qatari counterpart to explore the feasibility of importing liquefied natural gas to Jordan.

Jordan is looking for alternatives to Egyptian gas,  due to repeated attacks on the gas pipeline connecting the two countries .

Jordan, which imports nearly all of its energy supplies, has no facilities to take LNG deliveries.

Qatar is the world’s largest LNG producer with a capacity of 77 million tonnes a year.
