Qatargas Recognized for Best Performance at LNG Process Training Program in Japan

Qatargas team, comprising Nationals from Onshore Operations, were recognized for “Best Team Performance” among all participating teams at an LNG process training program held recently in Japan.

The three-week training programme was organized by JCCP. Oil and gas professionals from ten countries participated in the program which focused on technologies related to the refining, liquefaction, transportation, storage and utilization of LNG and involved lectures and site visits to industrial facilities.

As part of the program, attendees were required to deliver case studies relating to the technical challenges in their own facilities. The Qatargas Group made a presentation on the process technology challenge of addressing the increase of acid gas concentration in the feed gas to Qatargas 1 facilities, by delivering a new Acid Gas Removal Unit and new Sulphur Recovery Unit to remove the expected increase in H2S and CO2 content in order to maintain the current production plateau of Qatargas 1.
