According to the shipping data from Porto de Sines, the ME-GI LNG carrier, owned by the Spanish shipping company Elcano, Castillo de Caldelas, is scheduled to arrive at the facility on November 22.

The vessel capable of transporting 178,000 cubic meters was delivered to Elcano from the Japanese shipyard in July when it also completed its maiden voyage and delivery of a cargo from Qatar to the Sines LNG terminal.

Portugal’s only LNG import facility in Sines port has a nominal sendout capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per hour (5.26 bcm per year), with a peak capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per hour.

Portugal mostly imports LNG from Nigeria, Algeria and Qatar.
